Eurobodalla Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2025-2035

Consultation has concluded.

Council is developing Eurobodalla’s 10-year Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy. The strategy will:

  • identify key objectives for waste management and minimisation in Eurobodalla
  • set a clear vision for waste and resource recovery in Eurobodalla
  • develop a plan to carry out actions.

Survey feedback

We asked residents and business owners to provide feedback on the strategy's themes.

We developed three surveys on waste and resource recovery, food waste, and construction and demolition waste.

The surveys were open from 13 September to 11 October 2024.

Next steps

We are in the process of collating your ideas and feedback received from the surveys. This feedback will drive waste and resource recovery initiatives over the next ten years. It will help us to understand:

  • how we're performing in providing waste services to the community
  • what the community’s priorities are for future waste and resource management to include in the strategy.

We will also use the feedback to finalise a waste strategy. We will share a draft strategy for further feedback by December 2024 before Council considers it for adoption.

Council is working towards reducing food waste going to landfill by 50 percent by 2030.

Food waste is an important issue we need to address, which is why we're developing Eurobodalla’s 10-year Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.

A key step of the strategy is to understand the challenges our community and business owners face when they avoid, recover and reuse food waste.

Your feedback and suggestions will help us to explore a range of local, practical initiatives to reduce food waste going to landfill.
